The Clue team have a considerable amount of knowledge of delivering systems for investigators. Between them they have over 70 years of experience across a wide range of investigative disciplines. Nic Symonds – Clue Support Manager

Nic will be celebrating 21 years service with the company this year. He joined the company in a junior role and over the years has become an integral member of staff. Nic has been involved with the Clue software since the beginning, with Clue being introduced within the Criminal Justice market and subsequent development leading to the current Clue software as it is today. He has played a key role in the development and support of Clue and, along with a sound knowledge of computer systems, understands all aspects of this software thus ensuring successful implementation within our network of customers.

Jonathan Gahagan – Business Development Manager

Jonathan is a qualified Prince2 project manager who manages the Business Development team within the Clue Business Division.
Prior to his appointment he spent 7 years as a Detective in Hampshire Constabulary. His duties over this period included operational police work, surveillance, major incident and criminal investigations.
In 2004 he was awarded a Chief Constables commendation in relation to a complex ATM fraud involving multiple defendants crossing a number of Force boundaries. Prior to joining BOM Jonathan worked for Sungard Public Sector as the Business Consultancy Function Manager heading up
a team of 32 consultants assisting in the delivery of a National IT system
for the Police.

Judith Aherne - Business & Training Consultant

Judith joined Clue as a Training Consultant in March 2008 after spending several years project managing and delivering training on IT software in a variety of business, legal and civil government sectors. Judith, who once received an award for being “the most innovative newcomer” to a project management team with Network Rail, spent the previous 3 years delivering the training of a software suite to UK Special Branch forces from which she has obtained considerable praise on her delivery methods and supportive nature.

David Branfield – Business Development Consultant

David, who retired as a superintendent, joined the Clue team in 2007,
he spent the last 4 years of his service on secondment to the Police Information Technology Organisation (PITO) in London, where, as Head of Business Change on the national Custody and Case Preparation Programme, was instrumental in developing a ‘business led benefit driven approach’ to business change, ensuring that technology was the enabler, not the driver. Prior to his secondment to PITO, David was the Head of the Avon and Somerset Constabulary Criminal Justice Administration Support Unit, and as chair of the Local Trials Issue group, sat on the Area Criminal Justice Strategy Group.

Jerry Hawkins - Business Development Executive

Jerry joined Clue as a Business Consultant in 2000 following his retirement from Avon & Somerset police. Jerry, spent the last 5 years of his service on secondment to the South West Regional Crime Squad / National Crime Squad, where he was employed as Branch Intelligence Officer. Prior to his secondment NCS Jerry was a local Drug Intelligence Officer in Avon and Somerset, following on from a number of squad related roles. Prior to the Police Jerry was an Engineer and holds a HNC in Production Engineering.

Steve Combe - Business Development Executive

Steve joined the Clue team in June 2009. He had previously served with Northumbria Police for 30 years, the last 10 of which were concerned with the investigation of serious and organised crime, within the Major Crime Team, Specialist Crime Operations and Economic Crime Unit. During his time with Northumbria he was the Clue Administrator and Trainer, and has extensive practical experience of using Clue in an investigative capacity. He is a trained Exhibits and Disclosure Officer and has recently been extensively involved with the development of Clue to manage the requirements of Disclosure for Scotland.
