Whether the information has come from intelligence or as a result of a criminal act investigators need a central database to hold the information received during an operation or enquiry. The simple fact is that at the beginning of an investigation no one knows how long it will run for or how much evidence will need to be obtained. The operations module provides a number of key areas to store operational information such as tasks, action allocation, exhibits, documents, statements, transcripts, log books, RIPA, risk assessments, reviews and policy decisions.
